What a purity certificate leaves out

A certificate of analysis reports tests on a batch, meaning material made together. Read what was tested, not just the headline result.

  1. Ask whether the report matches the substance.

The US drug-review agency is FDA, which stands for Food and Drug Administration.

FDA found papers naming BPC-157 free base, but the attached test certificate named BPC-157 acetate. FDA identity review

These names mean different substances, rather than a shot or a pill.

Ask for the full substance name and check that it matches the name on the label and test report. Ask whether the report covers that exact batch.

  2. Look beyond the purity headline.

Most BPC-157 certificates FDA examined gave only a purity result and did not show impurity checks. FDA certificate findings

Purity describes how much of the tested material is the named substance. Impurities are other material in it.

A purity figure alone does not show that a batch is free of germs or harmful material left by bacteria, a kind of germ.

  3. Ask about the separate injection checks.

For injections, FDA calls for checks for living germs, harmful material left by bacteria, and stray particles in the medicine. FDA quality checks

Sterile means free of living germs.

Ask which checks were done and who can explain the report.

  4. Treat a research label as a label.

In September 2026, no BPC-157 product had passed FDA review for use in people, including products marked research use only. FDA product-review limit

That label cannot replace an answer about the substance, the rules or the human evidence.

  5. Ask whether treatment has been shown to help people.

FDA still found too little human safety evidence for BPC-157 in its review. FDA evidence limit

A batch report is not a study of whether treatment helps people.

Ask whether the pharmacy may use this ingredient to make medicine. Ask what studies in people show, as well as what the batch tests show.
